Our Core Services

Gosling Coffs Harbour offers specialised Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), vacuum extraction, and complete open-cut trench services to complement our core electrical design and construction capability.

Why us?

We offer an extensive fleet of modern well-maintained plant and drill rigs, with fully-trained and experienced machinery operators to suit all conditions and project requirements. Our fleet includes various earth and hydro-vacuum trucks, tip trucks, crane trucks, excavators, waste reclaimers, backhoes, borers, augers, and directional drilling rigs. When combined with our in-house team of mechanics that specialise in hydraulic and mechanical services, this helps minimise any potential delays or downtime in the production schedule.

Capability

  • Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD): Minimising disruption and environmental impact, HDD offers a cost-effective solution for laying cables or pipes underground, particularly across major road or highway systems where overhead or open trench routing is not viable.
  • Hydro-Bore Technology: Utilising high-pressure water, our hydro-bore technology enables non-destructive bores for easy navigation around existing services, ensuring efficient cable installation.
  • Vacuum Extraction and Waste Reclamation: Our equipment processes and separates excess debris into manageable liquid form, enhancing environmental sustainability during drilling operations.
  • Extensive Fleet of Plant and Drill Rigs: Equipped with modern and well-maintained machinery, including earth and hydro-vacuum excavators, waste reclaimers, backhoes, borers, augers, and directional drilling rigs, our fleet caters to various project requirements and conditions.
  • On-site Maintenance and Repair Expertise: Our comprehensive support extends to on-site maintenance and workshop repairs, minimising potential delays and downtime in the production schedule.
  • Earthworks and Excavation: Our services encompass vertical dry-auger drilling, excavator trenching, and non-destructive digging and potholing, adhering to environmental guidelines and leaving the operational site tidy.
  • Level 1 Underground Capability: Our earthworks services work hand in hand with our Level 1 Underground expertise, enabling smooth cable installation and assisting in the setup of Level 1 construction.

Fleet Maintenance

As part of our total commitment to safety in the workplace, our specialised fleet of vehicles and machinery is extensive and well-maintained, and meets all of the requirements for Level 1 and Level 2 ASP work. These include 4 x 4 vehicles, service vans, pole trucks and trailers, elevated work platform trucks, flat deck trucks with cranes, excavators, directional drilling rigs, and vacuum extraction trucks.

Where applicable, our vehicles carry out mandatory weight tests for cranes, 6 monthly testing of elevated work platforms and live line equipment, and daily pre-start for both vehicles and equipment. In addition to the six-month periodicals, we also undertake mandated testing and calibration of all equipment (earth testers, survey, hot sticks, etc), annual testing of cranes and Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs), and where required, five-yearly and ten-yearly overhaul testing.

Beyond this, Gosling Coffs Harbour also schedules regular maintenance days during which general upkeep and repairs on tools and equipment can be performed. These procedures also have the added benefit of providing team building and training to our work team.
